Kevin Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Council, said the US will ask for increased rare earth metal exports in talks with China in London.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamison Greer will meet with a Chinese delegation in London on June 9 to resolve trade disputes between the two countries.
“There are more critical mineral exports than in the past, but not in the volumes that we believe were agreed upon in Geneva… We want rare earth metals, magnets, which are very important for cell phones and everything else, to be delivered as they were before the beginning of April,” he said.
