Renault has announced a recall for the Kwid and Duster models in 2025 due to rear axle failure. This announcement was made due to potential problems detected in the rear axle supports of the vehicles. The problem is that, especially in the Kwid model, cracks can occur in the rear axle support under certain conditions, which can affect the roadholding of the vehicles.
In the Duster model, a loosening or incomplete fixing problem was detected in the fixing screws of the rear axle bearings due to a processing error. This can lead to loss of vehicle control and accidents in serious cases.
Details:
Kwid: Vehicles with chassis numbers J000006 to J986154, manufactured between May 5, 2021 and May 12, 2023, are affected. The rear axle support, which is at risk of cracking, can impair roadholding and increase the risk of accidents in extreme cases. Inspection and, if necessary, replacement of parts can take between 30 minutes and 8 hours.
Duster: Covers vehicles manufactured between September 16, 2024 and December 6, 2024, with chassis numbers J060924 to JL87197. A fault in the bearing fixing screws can cause the rear axle to disconnect from the chassis, which can cause loud noises and loss of control. The repair time varies from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours.
