US President Donald Trump reportedly gave Russia 50 days to end the war in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose 100% tariffs on Russia if a ceasefire agreement is not reached within 50 days.
On July 14, 2025, at a press conference held at the White House with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump stated that if Russia did not reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, he would impose harsh sanctions, such as 100% secondary tariffs, on Moscow and its trading partners.
Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Russia’s actions, saying, “Kyiv is still being bombed; this has to stop.” He also announced new arms shipments to Ukraine.
These statements suggest Trump aims to increase pressure on Russia and accelerate peace talks.
However, if no concrete agreement is reached within this timeframe, sanctions and military support to Ukraine are expected to continue.
