This Sunday, May 4, 13 miners from the Poderosa gold mine were found dead in northern Peru after being kidnapped.
The victims were allegedly executed by hitmen in a shaft in the mine, local media reported, citing government sources and family members.
“They already confirmed that they would bring them. They told us that they had found the bodies and that they would bring them. All the family members are here, waiting for the bodies,” the father of one of the victims told Canal N.
The bodies were found to have gunshot wounds to the head and neck, as well as ligature marks. They are currently being rescued by Peruvian National Police officers.
