Several civilians were killed and many injured when Israeli warplanes targeted a house belonging to the al-Banna family in the al-Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza.
Israel struck an area near the largest hospital in northern Gaza. The death toll is not yet known.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Hamas would pay a “heavy price,” alleging that it had attacked Israeli soldiers in Rafah and violating an agreement to return the hostages’ remains.

Following a meeting on Israel’s response to repeated ceasefire violations in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he had ordered the military to launch “immediate and powerful strikes on the Gaza Strip.”
This decision followed Israel’s anger after IDF troops were attacked in the southern Gaza Strip and Hamas committed further violations of the hostage return agreement.
Hamas reportedly fired an anti-tank missile at IDF troops in Rafah.
“The response to Hamas’s current violations will be much stronger than the last time,” an Israeli official told the Jerusalem Post.
Israel has launched intense airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, ordered by Netanyahu’s government, citing a violation of the fragile US-brokered ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10.
