The Iran-backed Houthis said on Sunday they would target all ships belonging to companies doing business with Israeli ports, regardless of the ship’s flag or nationality.

The ruling Shiite military-political movement in North Yemen, Ansarullah (the Houthis), has stated that they will attack ships of any company interacting with Israeli ports, regardless of the ship’s destination or country of origin.

Houthi armed forces spokesman Yahya Saria said in a statement. “The Yemeni armed forces are warning all companies to cease interacting with Israeli enemy ports as of the moment this statement is published.

Otherwise, ships, regardless of their target, will be attacked wherever our missiles and drones can reach them.”

According to Saria, these Houthi measures represent the “fourth phase of the naval blockade against Israel,” given the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Saria emphasized that the movement will attack ships regardless of their country of origin.

The ruling Ansarullah (Houthi) movement in northern Yemen, which controls most of Yemen’s Red Sea coast, has previously declared its support for Palestine and its intention to attack all vessels affiliated with Israel. It has also called on other countries to recall their crews and refrain from approaching them from the sea.

The Houthis also stated that they do not interfere with freedom of navigation in the region and do not attack other countries’ vessels.

During the attacks, some companies decided to suspend transportation through the Red Sea.
