At least three people were killed and others were seriously injured when a regional passenger train derailed in southern Germany.
It is not yet clear how many people were injured.
Police initially said four people died but later corrected their statement to three victims.
Authorities declined to provide details on the number of injuries or how severe they were.
About 100 people were on the train at the time of the accident, which occurred near the town of Riedlingen.
At least two carriages derailed in a wooded area near the town around 6:10 PM local time (2:10 AM AEST).
Investigators are trying to determine whether rain was a factor, as storms had passed through the area before the crash.
