A passenger train derailed in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dozens were injured, and ambulances were on their way to the scene.
A train accident occurred in Buenos Aires, Argentina, around 10:30 pm (local time) today (November 11, 2025), when a passenger train derailed after hitting an empty freight car parked in the Palermo district.
At least 90 people were injured in the accident, 30 of whom were hospitalized; two were in serious condition (chest and bone injuries). Numerous ambulances were dispatched to the scene, and the passengers were quickly evacuated.

- Location: Palermo district, on the train line (near Retiro station, Sarmiento line is estimated).
- Cause: Not yet officially determined, but stolen copper wiring affecting the signal system is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
- Results: The train remained stationary, and the injured received first aid at the scene. Buenos Aires Mayor Jorge Macri praised the evacuation teams who arrived at the scene and stated that more information is needed.
While this accident is rare on Buenos Aires’ busy train network, similar incidents in the past (such as the Once station accident in 2012) have raised infrastructure concerns. No casualties have been reported at this time.
